In the past two months I have really seen my sweet little girl start to lose some of that baby look. She has gotten taller and thinned out and her hair has gotten longer and thicker. She now has 8 teeth and has a vocabulary of approximately 20 words. Her newest words are "tree," "car," and "toes." She also says "go go" a lot these days and will oftentimes say it and run and point to her coat. She can point to multiple body parts when we ask her to, including her belly button, eyes, nose, mouth, head, toes, and just recently fingers (usually my fingers). She loves to try to lift my shirt up to see my belly button, as well as constantly points to my eyes waiting on me to say "that's right, eyes!" Something that she has started doing when I am holding her is playing with my hair. This doesn't happen super often, but when it does it melts my heart. Another fun thing she has started doing this month is making animal noises. She can say "moo" for cow and "baaa" for lamb. Although she can throw a mean tantrum when told "no," she has a super sweet heart that I pray will always be a part of her personality.

Peyton and Ellie have always had a good relationship, but most of the time they are pretty indifferent too each other. Here lately though, that has been a different story. Peyton is fascinated by "dog" as she calls Ellie and will stand at the glass french doors to the deck and say "dog" all day long. In fact, sometimes the first word she says when she wakes up is "dog." And if it's not the first, it's the second followed by her other favorite word (and person) "dada." She has also started picking up Ellie's toys and trying to get Ellie to play with her. Sometimes she will even be so kind as to share her food with Ellie :) I think Ellie is beginning to like bananas and yogurt melts as much as P.

This child is all about being on the move right now! She got a Little Tikes slide for Christmas and she is having a lot of fun climbing up and down off of it and going down the slide. She also loves to climb into the chair at the computer desk and bang on the keyboard and say "more more" until we give in and turn on iTunes, at which point we have a dance party. Something else that she is big into right now is playing outside whether it is running up and down the deck or running back and forth in the leaves in the yard along the side of the carport. I think that she would spend the entire day outside if I would let her. When I decide that we have had enough outside fun and bring her inside, she gets so mad and starts crying. Needless to say, I am looking forward to spring where we can spend more time outside! One of the cutest things she likes to do is to look at herself on the camera on the iphone/ipad or to look at a picture of herself. If our iphone is anywhere remotely close, she will get it and say "baby" so that we will put it on the reverse camera so she can see herself. Here are a few pics that I snapped of her looking at herself...

Peyton is learning right from wrong but not very well....she has kind of learned that when we tell her "no" it means not to do something, but instead of not doing it, she will do it and say "no no" as she does it haha. For example, she will walk over to a roll of toilet paper and say "no no" and then start to unroll it! This girl is going to give us a run for our money!!!
If someone would have told me a year ago that I would be having this much fun with her I would have said they were lying. It's hard to believe that exactly one year ago this busy little girl was only 3 months old and was just beginning to reach out and grasp a toy put in front of her. Back then I thought that nothing could top that stage but I was wrong. Somehow every month it keeps getting better and better and this past month has been no exception!
