Tooth #3
Tonight while I was feeding P dinner she grabbed my finger and put it in her mouth and there it was, her third tooth....FINALLY! This tooth is on the top left...YEAH her first top tooth! I have been watching it for awhile and was surprised after all of this time that it had finally broken through her gums. I really was expecting to see it three months ago when she cut her other two teeth, I've been checking her gums regularly because I thought she might be trying to cut a tooth and know that it wasn't there yesterday so she must have cut it sometime between last night and today. If this one is anything like her bottom two teeth, then there is another tooth that isn't far behind.

Birthday Celebration
We all got together at my parents house tonight to celebrate Jamie's and Big Will's Birthday. Before the celebration could begin we had some business to take care of. My mom has been wanting a picture of P and my brother's two boys and we have tried on at least two different occasions to get a good picture of the three of them but it just hasn't happen. It never fails that at least one of them is either not smiling or not looking at the camera. So tonight we decided to give it one last try. These are just a few of the many pictures we took of them...
After we all finally agreed that we had gotten at least one good picture, it was play time followed by a delicious Lebanese dinner of kibbee thanks to my mom. We were all stuffed from dinner so we visited for a little while and then opened presents and ate cake. Happy Birthday Jamie and Big Will!

10 Months
10 Months...really? I don't even know where to start. There have been a lot of changes with Miss P in this last month. Right after we had her 9 month check-up she got sick with hand foot and mouth disease which was no fun. Then just as she was getting over that she got a nasty little cough which sent us back to the doctor. Thankfully we are over all of that and she is back to her busy little self. It's funny because I knew that she wasn't really acting like herself when she was sick, but I didn't realize how bad it was until she started feeling better and was back to "talking" all of the time. And let me tell you, this little girl has A LOT to say. She is constantly babbeling, and has gotten pretty good with saying "Momma" to me and "Dadda" to Matt. She has also started trying to say "Hey Granddad" to my dad, as well as "dog," "baby," and "Night Night." She still loves to say "Byebye" and wave. Her new thing now is to wave to the baby when she sees herself in the mirror. And oh how she LOVES LOVES to look at herself in the mirror. This is about one of the only things that will keep her entertained for any length of time.
She is loving bathtime these days, especially now that she is bathing in the big tub and no longer in her little baby tub. I think that I would have bathed her in the sling in her baby tub forever because it was just easy on me and I didn't have to worry about bending over the bathtub and my back but now that I have seen just how much she loves to be in a regular bathtub I've had to say goodbye to the baby tub (not to mention the fact that she was way too big to be laying in that newborn sling). As soon as she hears the bath water running her face lights up and she gets so excited. I cannot get her in the tub fast enough! She will pull herself up to standing at the tub and throw her leg up and try to crawl in. Which brings me to the next new thing she is doing....pulling up to standing. Her favorite places to pull up to standing are the bathtub and me. She also still does her downward dog pose where she will stick her little booty up in the air so that she is standing on her feet but her hands are still on the ground. Two of my new favorite things she is doing is giving mommy kisses and dancing. She has had a love of music for awhile, but now does a little dance move where she swings her arms and twists her upper body...it is so funny to watch! She also has the best laugh. It's one of those whole body laughs where as soon as you hear it you can't help but laugh too.
There have been big changes in her eating this last month too, with her eating a lot more table food. In fact, the only way I can get her to eat her baby food is if I give her some food that she can pick up and feed herself. Then I have to try to feed her the baby food in between bites of her feeding herself the table food. I think she might be trying to tell me that she is over eating baby food.
Some of the not so fun changes this month have been the stubborn, independent side of her that is starting to come out. She definitely knows what she wants, and doesn't want for that matter, and is getting very good at showing it to us. If I put her in her carseat and she doesn't want to be in there she will start crying and arching her back trying to get out. She will also turn her head away from me when she is eating if she doesn't want me to feed her or if she doesn't want anymore to eat. She is also not so happy when you lay her in her crib to take a nap or go to sleep at night, and will just cry and scream until you get her out and then she is fine (and yes we are working on this). And the thing that she hates the most is getting her diaper changed. Oh how I dread changing her diaper these days. I basically have to pin her down with my leg in order to get her to be still long enough for me to get a clean diaper on her and she cries the entire time until I am done. Despite these not so fun changes, we are still having so much fun with her and are excited to see what new and fun things the future holds.

An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away!
Miss P LOVES apples! Whenever I am eating one I will cut a piece for her and she loves to hold it and munch on it. The only problem is that she doesn't like to sit still and eat it. Below are a few of my favorite pictures of her eating on a piece of apple.

Beach Vacation
Last Sunday we packed up the car with way more than we really needed, and headed out of town for a week at the beach. Our trip started off with a few bumps...between Sunday and Monday night we changed condos 3 times! That means lots of packing up and loading/unloading the car which is not fun in and of itself but especially not fun with a busy 9 month old. Although I must say that Peyton was a real trooper with all of the moving around we did. Thank goodness we have such a flexible little baby. Finally by Monday night at 7 we were getting settled into the condo where we would spend the rest of our vacation.
We've been to the beach two other times with Peyton but each of those times we were with our parents (the first time with Matt's and the second time with mine). So this was our first official vacation as a family of 3! It was great getting spend time with my two favorite people, however it was anything but relaxing. We spent most of our mornings and afternoons floating around in the swimming pool which wore Peyton out. She usually was ready for a nap after 45 minutes - 1 hour of playing in the pool. We did go to the beach a couple of times and wouldn't you know that my camera lens clouded up and most of the pictures that I took didn't come out clear. At first Peyton didn't seem to know what to think of the sand, but before long she was crawling around in it and at one point she picked up a handful of it and put it in her mouth and swallowed it YUCK! Should I be worried that she was completely unbothered by it??
I was surprised at how cold the ocean was considering the temperature was in the 90's every day we were down there. Peyton wasn't a huge fan of the ocean, but she did let us carry her out into it and put her feet in the water.
Our condo was definitely not baby-proof which resulted in a lot of falls, bumps, and worrying for me. Peyton decided that she was going to start pulling up to standing while we were there and she found just the perfect place for it...the bathtub. Matt and I tried our best to make sure that the bathroom door was closed at ALL times but the second we turned our backs Peyton would beeline it to the bathroom. The below pictures are a few I took of her before bath time, which was one of Peyton's favorite activities on our trip. She's been taking baths in her infant tub but we had a nice big jacuzzi so we let her take baths in there and she LOVED it.
When we weren't outside at the pool or ocean, we were inside playing toys. The condo had a wall in the dining room that was covered in a mirror and this was one of P's favorite places to go (in addition to the bathroom). She would sit in front of the mirror and look at herself and just smile and laugh. She also has a little toy that has a mirror on it and she had the best time sitting on the floor and looking down into the mirror. She also thought it was funny to try to get my camera when I pulled it out to take her picture.

MOVE OVER BEYONCE...There's a New Booty in Town!
Is that little booty not the cutest thing?!?!?! We got back from a week at the beach and I was so excited to see that these little bloomers I had ordered for P had arrived while we were gone. This child of mine is so busy and could not sit still for half a second for me to try them on her. I guess I can't blame her after sitting in that car seat carrier for 4+ hours. Not to mention that she is enjoying showing off her new found skill of pulling up to standing. I'm beginning to wonder if cruising isn't far behind because she actually took a step or two while I was taking these pictures. Guess we'll find out soon enough!

All in a Day's Work
It doesn't take much to keep this little girl entertained these days....
First, there is crawling to...and from.....
doing a little yoga pose of downward dog...and let's not forget trying to hang from our baby swing...
and when that doesn't work out so well pushing the swing from side to side while it barely misses hitting our head...
And people say staying at home is boring?!?!
